Tipping or Gratuities / Porters
Tipping is a personal matter. The “suggested” tipping guidelines are: $3:00 for your waiter, $2:00 for your busboy, and $3:00 for your cabin steward; per person, per day; to be paid to each individual on the last night of your cruise. (approximately $56.00 for each person in the cabin for a seven day cruise) The Cruise Director will explain this again to you during the disembarkation talk and there will be envelopes provided for you. You may also wish to tip the head waiter or Maitre’D if they rendered you extra service. Holland America Line has a “No Tipping Required” policy, as well as several upscale cruise lines. Some cruise lines will allow you to pre-pay your tips at the time you book your cruise.

Porters
At the airport and the pier, porters are available for your convenience , however tips for them are not included in the price of your cruise package. The recommended tipping amount is: $1.00 - $2.00 per bag.
