Theodore W. Scull is a New York-based
author, travel writer and lecturer specializing in maritime and railway subjects and New York City. Among ten books published are 100 Best Cruise Vacations - The Top Cruises throughout the World for all Interests and Budgets; Ocean Liner
Twilight 1968-1979 and Ocean Liner Odyssey 1958-1969 - personal accounts of
his sea travels; Hoboken’s Lackawanna Terminal; and Outdoor Escapes New
York City - a walking/hiking and sightseeing guide that promotes public transit. He has written hundreds of pieces on
travel and transportation over the past 25 years for newspapers, magazines, guidebooks and websites. He lectures for general
and special interest groups in the tristate region and aboard ships at sea.
Travels include the seven continents, with five
years aboard ships of all types and railway travel, including two derailments, in 70 countries. Academic degrees: M.A. history,
University of London; M.S. Education, Bank Street College, NY; and B.A. history, TrinityCollege, Hartford.
A Manhattan resident since 1964, he is married to Suellyn
Preston Scull, Acting Head of Trinity School.
