Those who know me will say that I have always enjoyed great adventures and on August 20th, 2009 your host for Cruising Authority will embark on the adventure of a lifetime to the mysterious and majestic country of China. My Co-Host for this special trip will be someone who has joined me on many adventures in the past, my wife, Terri. My wife and I want to extend to our listeners a very special opportunity to experience this amazing once-in-a-lifetime journey to China with Viking River Cruises. Of course for those who cannot physically accompany us on this incredible trip, you will be able to enjoy a Virtual Adventure up the Yangtze River on our Radio Internet show at Cruising Authority. During this trip, your host, Barry Vaudrin, along with his Co-Host, Terri Vaudrin, will capture the unique sounds of China with fascinating interviews so captivating, you'll feel like you're right there with us. Of course you'll also be able to follow us on our adventure blog and see amazing photos from this trip in our online photo album.

This is going to be a 12 day adventure called the Imperial Jewels of China, part land tour and part cruise. During our land tour we will tour Beijing and Shanghai with a number of fascinating cities and sites in between including the Great Wall of China and the Terra Cotta Warriors. We'll also see the Forbidden City, the Summer Palace and walk through Tiananmen Square, the world's largest public venue which can accomodate up to One Million people. We will also explore the immense engineering masterpiece called the Three Gorges Dam which changed the face of China.

There's no shortage of luxury aboard the Viking Century Sun, our Yangtze river boat, which is more like a mini-cruise ship with many of the amenities you'd expect on any modern cruise ship, including: Comfortable staterooms with private verandahs, a library, a shop and spa, as well as wonderful dinning and comfortable lounges.
