Michelle Fee, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of
Cruise Planners
In the travel business since 1981, Fee was the owner of a full service travel agency
for over 20 years. She started her own full service travel agency - Friendship Travel - in partnership with Lynn Korn. In
1994, Fee and Korn partnered with veteran travel agent Marvin Davis to form Cruise Planners.
Under Fee's guidance, the company launched two truly turn-key programs: Internet Marketing and Direct Marketing.
The Internet Marketing program enables the company's agents to have professional-quality web sites and flawless Internet
communications without each individual agent having to create the sites themselves. To ensure the on-going success of this
program, Fee has put together a team of developers who constantly update, modify, and improve this web program in a manner
that remains seamless to the agents. The Direct Marketing program provides our agents with a powerful method for obtaining
exposure. They utilize professionally produced and effective mail pieces that are distributed in the marketplace. The success
of this program has exceeded expectations and will continue to grow stronger in the future.
Under her direction, Cruise Planners has earned several accolades, including: American Express Travel Services Representative
Excellence Award in 2004, 2005, 2006 & 2007, Entrepreneur Magazine's Franchise of the Year (Cruise Tour/Travel Agencies)
2004, 2005 & 2006; Celebrity Cruise Line's 2006 Southeast Agency of the Year; Travel Impressions/American Express
Best of the Best Globe Award for 2006; Royal Caribbean Internationals Cruisetours Top Producing Agent 2005; Carnival Cruise
Line's Agency of the Year 2005.
Michelle sits on the Advisory
Board for Royal Caribbean International, Norwegian Cruise Line, Celebrity Cruises and CLIA (Cruise Line International Association),
as well as the Executive Form for Carnival Cruise Lines. In 2003, Michelle was named one of Travel Agent Magazine's Most
Powerful Women In Travel. In 2006 she was named Travel Agent of the Year by Travel Trade Magazine. Fee has successfully completed
the educational requirements and professional criteria to become a CTC (Certified Travel Counselor), the highest standard
of achievement in the travel industry.
Jason D. Mattes, Director of Franchise Development at Cruise Planners
Jason is one of the youngest
executives to lead the franchise expansion of 3 different franchise brands and is considered an authority on the subject of
franchising. Jason has made numerous speeches to franchise industry groups and at conventions on topics ranging from development
strategies to the value of growth for all stakeholders in a franchise company. In 2002, Jason left behind a lucrative position on Wall Street to pursue his passion in life; helping people transition
from employee to employer and giving them the opportunity to own a piece of the American dream. Since then, he has become
an accomplished franchise sales executive and currently holds responsibility for all Cruise Planners/American Express franchise
sales and strategic development operations.
Immediately prior
to joining the Cruise Planners/American Express family, Jason oversaw all franchise development and sales activity for Fast-Fix
Jewelry & Watch Repairs, the world's largest franchisor of jewelry and watch repair services with more than 165 franchised
stores in North America and Europe. In this capacity, Jason conceived and directed an accelerated growth program that produced
a 20-percent increase in new franchise sales in just two years, yielding more than $1.25 million in initial franchise fees
and system-wide, same-store sales revenue of $56 million+.
Jason's
franchise industry experience includes a tenure at Netspace, where he served as the Director of Franchise Development. Jason
gained recognition as one of the youngest executives to lead the development of a brand new technology franchise. Under his
leadership, the company achieved significant territory growth of 210-percent, resulting in more than $1.5 million in initial
franchise fees in his first two years. Prior to that, Jason was a licensed broker for an international banking group where
he developed new and existing accounts in the United Kingdom and South Africa.
A graduate of Colgate University, Jason holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science.
